Sanrio and Hello Kitty join the Telethon 2024

Sanrio has announced its support for AFM-Téléthon in its tireless efforts to combat rare diseases. This year, the beloved Hello Kitty served as a featured guest on the Téléthon TV show, which was broadcast live on France Télévisions on November 29 and 30.

Supporting the AFM-Téléthon aligns perfectly with Sanrio’s core mission: spreading happiness and strengthening connection between people. Through this partnership, the company seeks to contribute one of France’s largest charitable initiatives, which raises funds every year to support research and assist families affected by rare diseases.

During the show, Hello Kitty will appear alongside other notable guests, including singer Mika, the official patron of this year’s Téléthon, and the Téléthon Gaming e-sports teams, such as Solary.

To maximize fundraising efforts, Sanrio and its partners have introduced a several charitable initiatives that will engage fans and supporters:

  • The Great Téléthon Raffle: This special charity raffle features several prizes, including Candy Kitty, a one-of-a-kind resin sculpture created in collaboration with French artist Jo Di Bona and the prestigious Leblon Delienne workshop, celebrating Hello Kitty’s 50 years of joy and inspiration.
  • Hello Kitty x Solary Esports – Merchandise: Videogame and eSports fans can purchase a limited-edition t-shirt featuring Hello Kitty in a gaming-inspired design, with all proceeds going to the Téléthon.
  • Hello Kitty Plush Toys: In time for the holiday season, the Hello Kitty 50th anniversary plush created by Simba and available in JouéClub’s Christmas catalogue offers a perfect charitable gift idea. A portion of the sales from each plush will be donated to the AFM-Téléthon.

Sanrio is deeply committed to making a positive impact and is grateful to all its partners and supporters for their involvement in this important cause. Together, they can offer hope to families and individuals affected by rare diseases while contributing to funding essential research to improve their daily lives.
